@allistairc123 Thank you so much for this video! We had an old Ford TW35 on out farm that I basically grew up driving and in the early 90s we got a brand new 8970 New Holland. That tractor had amazing power compared to everything I'd driven before it. Remembered a fond piece of my child hold when I saw this video. Thank you so much!

So I’m not shitting on your video or anything just some of my insight. On heavy material like that if you have a stick welder with 6010 5p+ electrodes I would use that for your root, MiG will get the job done as we can see but your would probably get better penetration profile with a 6010 root, then mig out the rest. Great video though keep up the good work

I think that aluminum foil wrap would trap more preheat in the parts and keep it a more uniform temperature at a very low cost and less trouble than blankets.

Allistair, I’ve always loved your long form videos, it’s interesting to see a bit more of the set up before the grinding and welding. If the new system with someone else filming works for you and makes your life easier, then I’m all for it. One request though, turn up the music! Always loved the synth wave music montages you would do when grinding or welding.
